I'm Chase, a North Carolina native and artist.

The natural world has been an ever present constant in my life fascinating me in ways that when too hard to articulate, I paint and sketch. I’ve lived across the United States trying to better understand the forces that shape our environment including spending the greater part of 2022 on the road as my husband and I traveled the western United States in our converted van, Appa.

Last year I finally returned to my first love, the eastern, eroded curves of the Appalachians.

Why do we feel such strong connections to certain locations? My work explores this balance between humans and their surroundings as I learn how to engage in and adapt to my ever changing place in this world.
